Poppy Playtime: What We Know From All VHS and Posters So Far
You have surely realized by now that Poppy Playtime is all about making toys come to life. In other words, the blood obviously didn’t come from toys made of plastic. Time to check out all the Poppy Playtime VHS tapes, files, and posters we’ve found thus far. What could they mean?
It took only 7 months for Poppy Playtime Chapter 2 to be released following Chapter 1, giving gamers more than enough time to hypothesize on the narrative with the evidence they gathered. Many of these player theories have been validated with the launch of Poppy Playtime Chapter 2.
A more sinister picture of what was really happening at Playtime Co. during its heyday was drawn by paperwork and VHS tapes tucked away in the factory. Let’s have a look.
Where It All Started
During the first chapter of the game, we discover the abandoned Playtime Co. Toy Factory. We assume the character of a former employee of Playtime Co. who goes to visit the plant to see how things are going after receiving a very mysterious letter.

Upon discovering the flower, you’ll see toys hanging with written warnings around them. Is it possible that the toys that have been strung up are the former employees of the company? Or are they some of the orphaned kids?
Playtime Co.’s Secrets
The intriguing environmental narrative reveals Playtime Co.’s shady practices little by little. In addition to the recordings, there are also posters placed on the walls that describe questionable regulations for the workers.

At first glance, the playground in Chapter 2 seems harmless enough. Rather, it begs the issue of just how Playtime Co. transformed real humans into living toys. Remember that the primary goal of Chapter 1 was to figure out just what happened to our vanished coworkers. The picture is starting to come into focus in Chapter 2.
So much questionable Playtime Co. experimentation on the orphaned children and workers is revealed in a new series of VHS tapes with supporting documentation.

Workers may be hidden in plain sight at the factory. More than likely, they were utilized as guinea pigs in some kind of bizarre experiment.
“Poppy” Playtime
The founder of Playtime Co., Elliot Ludwig, describes a poppy flower and gelatin composition in his journal. Poppy flowers, according to him, are essential to the experiments involving resurrection.
There’s a VHS recording indicating that Elliot had lost a loved one. He then focused and devoted himself to Playtime Co. We may draw the conclusion from Elliot’s studies and the details he made on poppy flowers that he was trying to bring back a deceased loved one.

On the surface, it appears like his research was right. The question is whether or not it was worth all the lives that had to be sacrificed and used as test subjects.
Poppy Playtime Monsters.. or Victims?
Huggy Wuggy terrorizes you the entire time you’re exploring the factory in Poppy Playtime Chapter 1. In the last confrontation, he pursues the player through the events where he appears to have met his end. The player then proceeds to a chamber where they see Poppy, who is imprisoned in a glass case.
Now, Poppy is among the first indications that the toys are actually living within. Poppy appears to have human-like eyes in one of the videos. Indeed, we got a glimpse of her being operated on and having her voice box extracted. Moreover, when Huggy Wuggy fell down after the chase scene, he bled too.
In Poppy Playtime Chapter 2, we met additional toys and heard their voices via cutouts. Employee files and experiment notes suggest that several of the toys are in fact, former employees. The backstories of these toys may be revealed in future chapters. Will we learn more about how they came to be?
