Why is PURPLE KISS Swan Trending? Viral Comment on Livestream Explained

In the vast world of K-pop, it is inevitable for K-pop idols to have haters—and PURPLE KISS Swan just straightforwardly dismissed them. The girl group member maknae recently held a Weverse livestream to interact with their fans when she read and responded to an inappropriate comment. Here’s what went down during her livestream and why PURPLE KISS Swan went trending on K-pop TikTok.

Why did PURPLE KISS Swan Trend on TikTok?

On October 16, Swan turned on a solo Weverse livestream to talk with PLORYs, PURPLE KISS’s fandom. While many fans and netizens complimented her visual (precisely, Swan’s pink hair!) and solo debut release, a netizen dropped a hate comment against the idol.

  • Interestingly, PURPLE KISS Swan read the comment out loud, “You are so ugly.” And this is why Swan became a trending topic on TikTok–she answered the anonymous commenter saying, “You too, maybe, you’re the more [ugly].

She didn’t stop there as Swan further addressed the comment. “Don’t say the bad words to me,” the PURPLE KISS maknae added. Honestly, she’s one of the few idols who fought back against hate messages surrounding the comment section in every livestream. And to perfectly cut off the hater, PURPLE KISS Swan concluded her statement, “I want to talk to PLORYs only, not you.

  • The fan uploaded the clip on TikTok and quickly amassed over 400,000 views in less than 24 hours. The video garnered more than 100,000 comments, praising and wanting to start stanning her and PURPLE KISS.

People Should Stop Watching Livestreams To Spread Hate

This has been an ongoing issue in the K-pop world. It’s almost impossible to find any idol livestreaming in peace and with their respective fans. People should normalize avoiding livestreams just to spread hate purposely toward the idols. If anyone thinks of this as fun, it’s actually annoying and offensive to the idols, including the most recent Weverse livestream of PURPLE KISS Swan.

It would be easier to skip watching the livestream instead of bursting out inappropriate comments. Not all idols may clap back at the hate just like Swan did, but it doesn’t mean they haven’t read the hate words. Of course, not all K-pop idols can answer the offensive messages, but that doesn’t prove they’re not affected.

It takes a short time and an understanding mind not to throw those words against them. Idols are human, and netizens should remember to know the word respect and be kind towards these personalities. Being an idol isn’t easy, and everyone knows that. So, it would only be fitting to show love, appreciation, and kindness to the K-pop idols like Swan.

Who is PURPLE KISS?

We wouldn’t end this article without introducing you to PURPLE KISS and their fierce maknae, Swan. The group debuted under RBW Entertainment, the home to third-generation vocal queens MAMAMOO, in March 2021, with the title track Ponzoña.

PURPLE KISS debuted with seven members, but Park Ji Eun left in November 2022 due to poor health conditions. They continued as a six-member girl group consisting of Na Goeun, Dosie, Ireh, Yuki, Chaein, and Swan. The fourth-generation girl group has been one of the underrated ones this gen. It’s impossible not to fall in love with the group’s vocals; we’re not lying. PURPLE KISS is like the perfect successor to RBW’s MAMAMOO.

Swan recently became the first member to drop her solo debut, Twenty, last July. If you haven’t checked out her song yet, you better hurry and fall into Swan’s vocals and charms!
