Sony Announced Horizon: Zero Dawn, God of War, Gran Turismo TV Adaptations In Development

Video game-inspired TV shows and movies seem to have been ruling television and cinema this year. Lately, these type of shows have been turning a lot of heads and is gathering great amounts of attention. Because of that, Sony Entertainment is joining in on the fun by dropping the bomb – Not just one, but three video game live-action TV adaptations! Recently, Sony announced that three of their best games will be getting their much-awaited TV adaptations. The following games confirmed are Horizon, God of War, and Gran Turismo.

One of the possible reasons why Sony is suddenly making tv adaptations of the games mentioned is probably because of the huge success of video-game-inspired shows made in the past. To everyone’s surprise, Sonic the Hedgehog made a lot of money at the box office which almost everyone thought would bomb the theaters (figuratively speaking of course). On the other hand, shows like The Witcher (Netflix), Halo (Paramount), and Arcane: League of Legends (Netflix) are all getting positive reviews and feedback. Also, HBO is currently working on a live-action adaptation of the popular zombie game, The Last of Us.

Moving on, Sony’s animation director, David Gibson, announced the development of Sony original video games that will be getting their standalone live action series.,

GOD OF WAR, HORIZON, and GRAN TURISMO TV ADAPTATIONS CONFIRMED!

God of War

Thank the Heavens above (Except you Ares, we hate you). At long last, we’re finally going to see God of War hit Olympus, err I mean, the big screen!

This award-winning video game is reported to be getting its TV adaptation. Among the three games mentioned above, God of War is the most anticipated. A series following Kratos getting his revenge against the almighty Greek Gods? You betcha, I’m in! The life story and adventures of Kratos (and his son) are allegedly airing on Amazon Prime Video soon.

Horizon

Of all the games stated, Horizon is the most recent franchise created by Sony. Subsequently, Horizon birthed two titles: Horizon: Zero Dawn and Horizon: Forbidden West.

Follow Aloy as she tries to survive in a post-apocalyptic world inhabited by mechanical creatures. As previously reported, Aloy will be joining The Witcher, Arcane, DotA: Dragon’s Blood, and Castlevania as video-game-inspired shows that are currently on Netflix.

Gran Turismo

Sony’s Gran Turismo is a racing simulation game very much like Need for Speed, Forza Horizon, and Asphalt. Though the game has no plot or a defined story whatsoever, its TV adaptation could focus on the drama behind the racers and the organization. Hopefully, Gran Turismo’s TV adaptation turns out okay, unlike the Need for Speed movie which was a total flop at the box office.
