The first season of Ahsoka left viewers with mixed emotions. Ezra Bridger’s escape from Peridea and reunion with Hera Syndulla filled us with hope. However, the sadness lay in Ahsoka Tano, Sabine Wren, and Huyang being stranded in an entirely different galaxy. But this doesn’t signify the end of Ahsoka’s story, as Star Wars has revealed that the Jedi has embarked on a new mission that may very well be explored in the show’s upcoming second season.
In the final episode of Ahsoka Season 1, we saw Ahsoka and Sabine battling against Morgan Elsbeth and the Night Troopers. Unfortunately, they couldn’t hitch a ride back to their own universe with Grand Admiral Thrawn, leaving the two of them to make a home with the Noti tribe, all while Anakin Skywalker’s Force ghost watched over them.
Ahsoka Tano Finds A New Purpose on Peridea
Does this mean Ahsoka and Sabine are trapped in this unfamiliar galaxy indefinitely? Surprisingly, the official Star Wars website affirms they are precisely where they are meant to be.
“The convor Morai and the Force spirit of Anakin Skywalker both appear to give Ahsoka Tano signs that she’s exactly where she is supposed to be,” the site stated.
This isn’t entirely new, as Ahsoka herself voiced similar thoughts in the episode. To assure Sabine about their unfortunate fate, she points out that they are exactly where they need to be and then looks over to the Noti tribe behind them. However, the website’s written confirmation suggests that Ahsoka’s mission on Peridea is yet to be unveiled.
Numerous theories suggest that it could be linked to Baylan Skoll’s personal quest on the planet that could be connected to the Mortis Gods. It is believed that Ahsoka Tano, whom Morai constantly follows, might be sent on a mission to reconnect with The Daughter, who had sacrificed her own life for the Jedi in Star Wars: The Clone Wars.
Ahsoka’s return in the second season could also be connected to the role she plays in the fight against Thrawn. In the finale, the Imperial officer taunted Ahsoka Tano as she tried to leave Peridea along with the Eye of Sion. Although it could be viewed as gloating on Thrawn’s part, there is a possibility that he was threatened by Ahsoka’s persistence and the fact that she was once Anakin Skywalker’s Apprentice.
Nevertheless, it is unlikely that the Jedi will be stuck on Peridea for long and is fated to return to the Star Wars galaxy to take her place in the battle against Thrawn.
Will Ahsoka Get Renewed for Season 2?
While these theories sound promising, it’s crucial to remember that Lucasfilm and Disney have yet to announce a second season of Ahsoka officially. The delay may be attributed to the recent WGA strike and the ongoing negotiations related to the SAG-AFTRA strike.
Many fans believe that the companies are awaiting the outcomes of these negotiations before making an official renewal announcement.

Though the series has yet to receive an official renewal, it has been reported that a second season is “more of a reality in the conversation, though nothing is locked yet.” It’s quite possible that only updates from the ongoing strikes are holding back the official renewal, and there’s a good chance the show will get the green light before the year’s end. With that in mind, Star Wars fans are holding on to hope that the wait for Season 2 (or at least its announcement) will be over soon.
At present, Ahsoka Season 2 remains unconfirmed. In the meantime, fans can enjoy all eight episodes of the first season on Disney+.
