Boxing legend Tyson Fury has told the media that he plans on retiring after the title defense fight against Dillian Whyte in April.
The British heavyweight champion wants to call it a career after a fruitful path in boxing. He has won 31 out of 32 professional boxing fights (1 draw fight against Wilder). The undefeated “Gypsy King” is set to have his final fight against another British boxer, Dillian Whyte.
Fury already responded to the rumors of him retiring, saying that his retirement plans are already “100% sure”. Additionally, he also brags a bit about his success in boxing, saying
“(I’m a) two-time undisputed champion. [I have] £150m in the bank and nothing to prove to anybody.”
On the other hand, Dillian Whyte did not show up during the press conference for their upcoming match. As a result, Fury called him “terrified” and is “afraid” of his presence. He even mockingly nicknamed the boxer “Frillian Whyte-knickers”.
Whyte is currently training in Portugal and refused to attend the said press conference.
“He’s definitely shown the white flag in my estimation,” – Fury said during the event.
If only Tyson Fury would not be retiring, his next fight would be against the winner of the Anthony Joshua and Oleksandr Usyk matchup. That is if he happens to beat Dillian Whyte.
Fury will leave the limelight after this fight. Soon after, he will be heralded as one of the best heavyweight boxers in history to set foot in the ring.
His famous bouts were against some of the greatest boxers in history such as Deontay Wilder, Wladimir Klitschko, Derek Chisora, and Steve Cunningham.
