Riot Games recently revealed the open-beta phase for Valorant Premier, which will be their own in-game tournament mode. Through this, regular players can participate in regional tournaments right from their homes.
Thus, opening the door for various Valorant teams across regions to compete and show off their skills online. As for eligibility, every player will have the chance to participate through SMS verification and getting a rank placement at any point in their account lifetime.
Valorant Premier: Everything to learn about Riot’s tournament mode
Valorant Premier as a tournament mode was initially available in Brazil back in November 2022. Now, the feature is making its way to the public with an open beta phase lasting from April 25 to May 23, 2023. The official schedule is set as follows:
- Enrollment period: Apr 25–28
- Weekly Matches: Apr 29–May 20
- Playoff Tournament: May 21
Valorant Premier tournament mode beta is going to be a test version and no progress will be carried on later. However, participants will be rewarded, which makes it a must-try for all. However, a progression system will be added with full release after August 2023.
Players will have the freedom to make their own roster for the in-game tournament. However, the ability to invite and remove members will only remain with the team owner. Additionally, players can only join one team per account, so they cannot join multiple teams.
In terms of team creation, Riot Games are not imposing hard barriers and will allow players to create teams with Bronze and Diamond players. However, if there is a huge skill disparity, there are chances team owner will see an error message for members causing issues for Division-based matchmaking.
When enrolling players will be able to pick a single zone, which cannot be changed later on. Thus, the game will be suggesting recommended zones for Valorant Premier which will give the best output in the tournament mode.
