This news spread earlier this year, last January to be specific, when BLACKPINK Jennie filed the trademark application. It can be seen on the Korea Intellectual Property Rights Info Service (KIPRIS) website that the girl group member applied for ten (10) trademarks for JENNIE RUBY JANE under her name, Jennie Kim. This resurfaced last Monday, along with BLACKPINK contract renewal news.
- It’s a no-brainer what the trademark application is for. Since she filed these from January to March, it’s possible that she has made up her mind not to renew her contract with YG Entertainment this year. Interestingly, it could also be her plan to create a business with the same name. She has used JENNIE RUBY JANE with her other brand deals and even her acting career.

Latest Update on BLACKPINK’s Contract Renewal
This resurfaced news earned quite a lot of discussions on what could happen to the YG Entertainment girl group. Apparently, the managers handling the BLACKPINK members have reportedly left the agency, sparking another set of rumors that the members didn’t renew their respective contracts.
Also, on November 14, the agency also released a new statement regarding the members’ pending contracts. YG Entertainment talked to Sports Chosun and said they are still negotiating with the artists. To lessen everyone’s thinking about when it would be confirmed, they added, “The final outcome will be revealed through the document regarding major management issues related to investments.”
