As a kid, you may have dreamed of having superpowers like invisibility, super strength, and the ability to fly. If you like watching Kdramas and superhero flics then Disney+’s ‘Moving ‘ may just be right for you. Moving is a series based on a popular webtoon written by Kang Full. With its immense popularity among Kdrama fans, it’s not surprising that Moving is arguably the best superhero TV series right now (sorry MCU). In hindsight, it feels like an answer to Netflix’s hit Kdrama series Squid Game and The Uncanny Counter. Despite that, Disney’s Moving was nonetheless positively received by viewers and critics making everyone wonder – Is there going to be a season 2 of the Kdrama ‘Moving’?
Kdrama of the Year? Moving just became the most-watched Disney Kdrama series in Asia
Despite the arrival of the Star Wars spinoff series ‘Ahsoka’, the superhero Kdrama series still took the streaming platform by storm. Based on the webtoon of the same name, Moving’s story revolves around three high school teenagers, Jang Hui-Soo (Ko Yoon-Jung ), Kim Bong-Seok (Lee Jeong-Ha ), and Lee Gang-Hoon (Kim Do-Hoon) who inherited superpowers from their parents.

The show starts with Jang Ju-Won (Ryoo Seung-Ryong), Lee Jae-Man (Kim Sung-Kyun ), Lee Mi-Hyun (Han Hyo-Joo), and Kim Doo-Sik (Zo In-Sung), who all once worked at a shadowy South Korean government agency called NIS as spies.
Due to their supernatural abilities such as heightened senses, flight, and super strength, all of them were used by the government as weapons. But as the mission becomes suspicious, they go AWOL and leave the lives they had to protect their family.
Many years later, the former NIS agents found themselves in dark waters again after their children inherited their superpowers. While the high school students try to hide their abilities, their folks also face the dilemma of returning to action to protect their kids from abuse. What’s even more difficult is they have to face an assassin, Frank (Ryoo Seung-Bum), who’s working for the CIA. Moving premiered on August 9, 2023, and concluded with its three-episode finale on September 20. The show is supervised by the source material’s author Kang Full and is directed by Park In-je who also helmed Netflix’s hit zombie series ‘Kingdom’.
Will Disney+ renew Moving for a second season?
As the season is close to its end, fans are wondering as to the possibility of a second season. Well, I hate to break it to you, but as of now, Disney+ has not yet confirmed a sequel to the series. Usually, Kdramas are only laid out for a single season with more or less 16 episodes. Hence, the Korean shows aren’t akin to getting a second or third season of their shows. Only a few select had the chance of being renewed for another installment with most of them coming from Netflix (Kingdom, Alchemy of Souls, Hospital Playlist, The Uncanny Counter, and more). In addition, a lot of things have to be considered in confirming a season’s renewal. Moving is reportedly one of the most expensive Kdrama projects joining the likes of Squid Game and Sweet Home.
However, things seem to be going well and Moving is highly likely getting a season 2.
Moving isn’t only the most watched Kdrama on Disney+. Unsurprisingly, it’s also graded positively by viewers. Rotten Tomatoes’s audience rating for the series is a whopping 97%. Moreover, The webtoon’s author Kang Full stated that the live-action adaptation was not based entirely on the webtoon. This means that whatever creativity the author and director have, there’s still room for more (especially another season).
Another reason to give Moving another run is the bitter-sweet finale. Though it ended on a positive note, fans still have a lot of questions left unanswered. One of which is the reappearance of Frank (or could it be his twin, Elias?). On the other hand, Kang Full has another manhwa called “Timing”, which seems to be in the same universe as Moving. Will we see a Kang Full-verse soon?
