An art book for Hogwarts Legacy is releasing on December 31, but some fans speculate that it might also be the release date for the actual Hogwarts Legacy game. Is this true? Read on to find out more about the upcoming Hogwarts Legacy game.
An Amazon listing went live a few days ago for the official art book of Hogwarts Legacy. And as of writing, we have no word yet on a final release date for the game. However, some fans are connecting the release of the art book to the game’s release.
The Hogwarts Legacy art book is scheduled for release on December 31.
- First reported by VGC, fans of Hogwarts Legacy took to Reddit to discuss the art book. It’s called “The Art and Making of Hogwarts Legacy: Exploring the Unwritten Wizarding World” and it is available on December 6. But of course, the discussion didn’t focus solely on visuals or artists involved in the creation of the book.
- Then, the discussion moved in a different direction as fans started talking about the game’s possible release date. When it was first announced that a Harry Potter game is coming, Warner Bros. only revealed that it is set for a release later this year.
- But as VGC reported, the date for the Hogwarts Legacy’s art book changed on Amazon UK. Some Redditors noticed this since before, a placeholder release date for the book was December 31, 2022.
- Aside from Amazon UK, the one in Japan also has December 31 as the art book’s release date. Other stores like Amazon US and Canada have December 31, 2022, as the book’s official release.

This isn’t the first art book for a title released under Warner Bros. Games
Further down in the Reddit discussion, one user supports the claims of Hogwarts Legacy releasing on December 6. This isn’t the only game coming from Warner Bros. Games this year. Another upcoming title is Gotham Knights and like Hogwarts Legacy, the game is getting its own art book.
For Gotham Knights, its art book will be out on October 25, 2022. Known as the ‘Collector’s Companion,’ the book will be released on the same day as the Gotham Knights game. However, these are all merely speculations unless we have confirmation from the team behind Hogwarts Legacy.
Here’s to hoping that Hogwarts Legacy does indeed release in ‘Holiday 2022’. And if it does, we can expect it sometime around November or December. Nonetheless, we are looking forward to what the game has in store for Potterheads. Not only are we getting a more in-depth look at Hogwarts, but we’re also getting to experience some classes first-hand.
The game is coming to the PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X, Xbox One, and PC later this year.
