Fans of BTS’ Jimin took over Twitter for the past few days to demand an explanation from the US Billboard charts. They trended various hashtags calling Billboard corrupt and guilty of racism as they demanded transparency about their criteria. As Jimin’s solo Like Crazy slipped out of the Top 10 of Billboard’s Hot 100 chart.
This news came as a shock to his fans who were expecting to see Jimin remain in the Top 10. Rumors of US Billboard charts allegedly changing their criteria for measuring the popularity of songs went viral across various platforms. ARMYs accused the platform of being biased, xenophobic, and corrupt as they demanded to know the reasons behind the sudden change.
BTS Jimin became the first Korean solo artist to top Billboard’s Hot 100
Last week, fans of BTS’ Jimin celebrated the historical record of the artist topping the Hot 100 chart. On April 3, 2023, Jimin’s first solo album FACE‘s title track Like Crazy surpassed Miley Cyrus’s Flowers and took the number one spot on Billboard.
However, the celebration was short-lived as his song Like Crazy slipped out of the Top 10 the following week altogether. This drastic change was shocking for his fans, to say the least.
