NASCAR 21: Ignition is set to release on October 28th for Windows PC, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One. The chief executive of Motorsport Games, Dmitry Kozko, stated that it has been in development for over two years now, and is a “built-from-scratch product.”
Unreal Engine 4
The new installation will use Unreal Engine 4. NASCAR 21: Ignition is going to have the staple gaming modes. This includes online multiplayer, multi-season career, and racing as a real-life driver in the current season. There are also going to be more customization options for drivers and teams created in the game.
While the recent NASCAR Heat Series had been built in the Unity engine, Kozko has said that NASCAR 21: Ignition does not contain any Unity components, except some concepts from previous games.
Motorsport Games has recently acquired Studio 397, the makers of the racing simulator rFactor 2. Kozko has said that underneath the Unreal engine, there will be rFactor physics at work. However, it will not deliver a simulator; rather, a game that is accessible to anybody and everybody.
NASCAR 21: Ignition
- After the initial release in October, NASCAR 21: Ignition will have a better version for the PlayStation 5 and the Xbox Series X, with a free upgrade for players with the older console version.
- Though Motorsport Games is a part of a media company, Kozko believes they have an opportunity to create really good experiences. The previous series of NASCAR does not compare with the modern AAA development standards for games. Additionally, there should have been proper investments.
- He also stated that he is glad that Motorsport Games will be engaged for the next decade in the NASCAR title games. There are also plans to make games of the 24 Hours of Le Mans and the British Touring Car Championship.
