Nintendo Switch Sales Declining

- Nintendo Switch sales have been declining recently. The company also predicted sales of 15 million units in the year through next March which dropped by 3 million as compared to last year.
- The company’s Net Profit was around $3.2 billion for the 12 months through March (down over 9% on the year).
- Nintendo Switch console makes up over 90% of the company’s rev, and the decline in sales has many suggesting that they might need to come up with a new console.
Super Mario Bros. Movie’s success boosts Nintendo’s earnings
Nintendo’s President, Shuntaro Furukawa, confirmed that “The Super Mario Bros. Movie” will be included in the company’s earnings forecast this 2023. The movie’s success has surprised many as the company earned over $1.1 billion since its release in April 2023. Furukawa then noted that the success of the movie may lead to having new fans of Mario and Nintendo, and could also possibly make these new fans try and play the console.
