Rihanna arrived at the Met Gala red carpet dressed in a white ensemble and black sunglasses to honor the late Karl Lagerfeld. The dress accentuated her growing baby bump as she walked up the carpeted steps of the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York City.
The Umbrella singer was accompanied by her partner and baby-daddy, A$AP Rocky. The couple is currently pregnant with their second child, which is reportedly due this summer. They had a son last year on May 13, 2022, in Los Angeles.
The Fenty owner shared the experience of her second pregnancy in an interview during the Met. She said:
“It’s so different from the first one. No cravings. Tons of nausea. Everything’s different, but I’m enjoying it.”
She added:
“I feel good. I feel energetic.”
Rihanna wore a white gown to the Met Gala
The expectant mother told ET that she was obsessed with her soon-to-be one-year-old. While talking to the portal’s representative Rachel Smith, Rihanna shared:
“I’m in love. I’m obsessed and I don’t even feel guilty about it,”
A$AP chimed in and said:
“[He’s] growing big. Beautiful, happy baby.”
The couple arrived late to this year’s Met Ball, but they arrived in style. Rihanna wore a floral white jacket with a hood, that opened to reveal a white silk gown and a diamond choker necklace. The singer’s dress included a 16 feet long train, complete with a silk cape made of embroidered white flowers.
As per the reports, the dress worn by Rihanna was adorned with 30 Camellias, 500 petals, and 25 leaves, and it took the efforts of 30 seamstresses to create it. To complete her look, the singer wore a pair of sunglasses with large eyelashes stuck on the outside of the rim.
A$AP Rocky wore a black suit with a kilt. The rapper completed his look with an embellished pair of jeans, black gloves, and sunglasses.
The singer announced her second pregnancy at the Super Bowl
The makeup mogul announced her second pregnancy while performing at the Super Bowl halftime show. The singer performed in a red ensemble showing off her pregnant belly. During an interview with Vogue, Rihanna revealed that her pregnancy was a surprise to her as well. She said:
“I wouldn’t say [we were] planning [to start a family]. But certainly not planning against it. I don’t know when I ovulate or any of that type of s**t. We just had fun. And then it was just there on the test.”
According to the Diamond singer, she discovered her second pregnancy sometime after her photoshoot for the March cover of British Vogue. She posted an image from the shoot on her Instagram account, and captioned it:
“How crazy both of my babies were in these photos and mommy had no clue.”
