Steve Smith Becomes Fastest Batsmen to score 8000 runs

Steve Smith has always dominated Test Cricket. His dominancy can be seen by his records. Today, (24th March) he became the fastest batsman to score 8000 runs in Test Cricket’s history. He achieved the record during the third innings of the final Test against Pakistan.

Smith took only 151 innings to achieve this milestone. Earlier this record was in the name of former Sri Lankan legend, Kumar Sangakara, who scored 8000 runs in 152 innings.

Steve Smith started his career as a leg spinner but he is one of the best batsmen in the world. He is the 33rd batsman in the world and seventh from Australia to score 8000 plus runs in Test Cricket. Currently, he has the highest Test batting average and totals 27 hundreds to his name.
