What do you get when you take Insomniac Games, the developers of the renowned Spider-Man titles on the PS4 and PS5, and mash it up with iconic cartoon superhero Ben 10? The answer is an instant hit. With the release of Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 coming soon, many fans wonder what else the devs have up their sleeves. One of the most popular requests for the next game from Spider-Man devs is a Ben 10 game. Let’s take a look at why, if this dream becomes a reality, it will be an instant hit.
Should the Spider-Man Devs Create a Ben 10 Game?
Right off the bat, we have to say YES to a Ben 10 game from Insomniac Games. Who better to create a mindblowing and captivating adaptation of the popular Cartoon Network character than the same people who created the recent Spider-Man games, right? If we look at Insomniac Games’ record in the previous years, they’ve made some pretty phenomenal games.

Some of the classic titles under their belt are Spyro, Ratchet and Clank, and Sunset Overdrive. Their attempt to move from creating their characters and stories worked really well. Insomniac Games proved they had what it takes to work with licensed properties (the iconic Spider-Men) and exceed expectations.
- Marvel’s Spider-Man, first released exclusively on the PS4 back in 2018, received an 87 on Metacritic.
- The follow-up game, which focused on Miles Morales, received an 85.
- They have also released DLCs for Marvel’s Spider-Man. Most of these DLCs received a score of 70 and above, proving that Insomniac Games doesn’t have a hard time telling a story through their writing.
Will the Ben 10 game be a hit?
It’s no secret that video game enthusiasts want a Ben 10 game from the Spider-Man devs. There are plenty of gamers calling the attention of Insomniac Games to heed their calls.

Yuri Lowenthal, the talented and iconic voice actor for Peter Parker in the Spider-Man games, is familiar with Ben’s character. Characterizing Ben Tennyson won’t be a problem for someone like Lowenthal, if ever Insomniac chooses him as Ben’s voice actor in the game.
A discussion on the subreddit for Spider-Man on the PS4 also shows users talking about a Ben 10 game from the devs. Although some comments doubt that Insomniac will be able to deliver a stunning game set in the universe of Ben 10, most users counter this with support and positivity.
Insomniac Games can stay true to Ben 10’s lore while adding a few twists of their own
The devs made a few decisions to change the story of Spider-Man in their games, especially when it comes to Peter Parker’s character. Instead of modeling his likeness and personality after one of the Peters in the movie, Insomniac revamped his identity. Though they stayed true to showing Aunt May and other key figures in Peter’s life, the difference lies in his personality.
- They have taken every charming and lovable trait from the Peters in the movies and mixed it all together. The result was an equally lovable and well-rounded Peter Parker.
- Pair his fantastic character with the stellar performance from Yuri Lowenthal, and you’ve got the perfect adaptation of Spider-Man/Peter Parker.

Should Insomniac Games create a Ben 10 game, they can take plenty of routes.
- One of the things they can do with Ben Tennyson is change his age in the game.
- Similar to how Peter Parker was a young adult in Marvel’s Spider-Man, the devs could do something along those lines for Ben 10. The game could have a young adult Ben, complete with Grandpa Max and a grown-up Gwen and Kevin by his side.
- They could also have the universes collide, like how the series wrapped up in 2011. If you were able to tune in to the final Ben 10 special, all the Bens come together to get the Omnitrix back from Alien X.
Aliens we’d love to see in the hypothetical Ben 10 game
Characters are also one of the most integral parts of a video game. The Spider-Man games from Insomniac have depicted some of the iconic characters from the comic books. We have Kingpin, J. Jonah Jameson (with his relentless rants about Spidey), and Peter Parker himself.
What made Ben 10 iconic during its run was the different aliens Ben could transform into. If a AAA studio picks up Ben 10 and decides to create a game after it, they should choose the perfect Aliens to feature.
Of course, the most obvious choice for Aliens would be the Original 10:
- Diamondhead
- Four Arms
- Ghostfreak
- Grey Matter
- Heatblast
- Ripjaws
- Stinkfly
- Upgrade
- Wildmutt
- XLR8
As for the other iconic Aliens in the series, Insomniac Games could have them become unlockable through story missions. On the other hand, there’s always the option to handpick the Aliens included in the base game. The other Aliens could be included in either the next game or in story expansions.
The Spider-Man devs are hands down one of the most capable teams to create a Ben 10 game. Not only will they deliver a wonderful and exciting gameplay experience, but they’ll also have a captivating story and lovable characters to accompany it.
After Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 releases this October, Insomniac’s next project is a video game adaptation for Wolverine. Fingers crossed that they would explore beyond Marvel characters soon.
