Would there be a Ghost of Tsushima movie western adaptation? (Potential lead actors)

Ghost of Tsushima Western Adaptation

Sony and PlayStation’s initiatives to adapt their greatest hits to the silver screen might just be one of the biggest things they’ve thought of thus far. One huge project the entertainment studio is developing is a live-action adaptation of the 2020 hit videogame, Ghost of Tsushima.

Helmed by Chad Stahelski (John Wick), the movie will follow the exact path of the source material, ergo the role-playing game set in feudal Japan. However, Stahelski wants the movie to be as authentic as it could be. This means, he wants it spoken in Japanese and he wants an all-Japanese cast to complete his aspirations. Contradicting Stahelski’s visions, we are also left with a question – will there be a western version movie adaptation of Sucker Punch Production’s Ghost of Tsushima?

Honestly, we have no answer to that as the entirety of the project seems to be off the books. Despite that, we highly think it is possible. With some of the viewers refraining from watching subtitled shows and movies, an English or Western version of the movie would sound perfect. Let’s take a look at some talented actors that could potentially take the lead in this movie adaptation of Ghost of Tsushima.

Potential lead actors to play Jin Sakai in the Ghost of Tsushima movie adaptation

Tom Cruise

  • He may not be the most “samurai-looking” man here but he did have a stellar performance in “The Last Samurai”.

  • One of the most sought-after and most expensive actors of all time, Tom Cruise will bring his A-game in every film he stars in. Just recently, his latest movie, Top Gun: Maverick became a huge success at the box office. It took over Titanic as the 7th highest grossing movie of all time by earning about $ 1.2 Billion worldwide. Plus, even at 60, Tom Cruise is still a desirable guy to play as an action character.

Keanu Reeves

  • If we are picking someone to play a rugged but lovable character, we don’t have to look any further. Arguably one of the most loved actors of our generation, Keanu Reeves would be a perfect choice to play Jin Sakai in a western adaptation of Ghost of Tsushima.

  • Rose to stardom as a matinee idol in the ’90s, Keanu quickly blossomed as one of the most talented artists of his time. His performance as Kai in 47 Ronin supported the idea of him playing Jin Sakai. Also, he is a trained martial artist, and judging by his moves in John Wick, even at the age of 57 years old, Keanu is aging like fine wine.

Daniel Henney

  • Daniel Phillip Henney may have Korean origins, but he has lived his entire life in America. Having a British father and a Korean-American mother, Henney rose to fame in the hit 2005 Korean television series, My Lovely Sam Soon.

  • The 42-year-old Henney is a certified hunk and heartthrob actor and model. Some of his biggest works are acting as Tadashi in Big Hero 6, Agent Zero in X-Men Origins: Wolverine, and Lan Mandragoran in Amazon Prime’s The Wheel of Time.

Henry Golding

  • Henry Golding is a Malaysian-British actor who gained popularity through television shows on BBC. The 35-year-old movie star could be a great fit to fill Jin Sakai’s shoes if a western adaptation ever pushes through. He is half Asian and half European which makes him the perfect mix of both worlds.
