In Elden Ring, the Uchigatana is a katana for builds that prioritize dexterity and strength. While players who choose Elden Ring’s Samurai class will receive one of these swords at the start of the game, there is another option for fans to earn an Uchigatana. This guide will walk you through the process, making it incredibly simple for you to add this katana to your attacking arsenal.
Uchigatana Location
On the north side of Limgrave, the game’s first locale, you’ll find the Uchigatana. It is necessary to locate the Deathtouched Catacombs, an optional dungeon west of Saintsbridge. When you arrive, enter and begin your descent.

After entering the Deathtouched Catacombs, you’ll run against a wall and have to turn left to proceed. A few steps past this point, you’ll come across a little staircase that you should descend, turning right at the bottom, and continuing forward until you reach a room with a statue. There’s a lever in front of that statue. Interact with it.
To get to that spot, you’ll have to go backward and stop after ascending the first flight of steps. Turn left at the top of these steps and proceed into a tiny corridor on the left side. To get to a body dangling off a ledge, go through yet another passageway to the left. The Uchigatana is held by this corpse.
Assassin’s Crimson Dagger (OPTIONAL)
- The Assassin’s Crimson Dagger is another talisman that can be found in the Deathtouched Catacombs. You can obtain this Talisman by defeating the Black Knife Assassin and allowing players to replenish health with critical blows.
- Fans need not be concerned if they are unable to defeat this optional boss the first time they visit the Deathtouched Catacombs; they may always return and retrieve the accessory later in their Elden Ring adventures.
