Marvel keeps the ball rolling in 2023 with an all-new much-anticipated season for the Disney Plus series, Loki. A new trailer just dropped for Season 2 that teases the audience about what will unfold in the Time Variance Authority (TVA). The stakes are much higher than the first season’s events, but it promises a time-bending adventure throughout. Apart from bringing back the main characters from Season 1, the trailer also showcases an addition of new characters. Loki’s Season 2 Trailer Breakdown
The trailer starts with Tom Hiddleston’s Loki and Owen Wilson’s Mobius interacting with a TVA archivist called OB or Ouroboros. OB is played by none other than Academy Award winner Ke Huy Quan, best known for his recent role in Everything, Everywhere, All At Once.
OB introduces the concept of time-slipping, where the god of mischief uncontrollably jumps to random points in the timeline. We don’t know the reason yet, but all hints point toward the direction of Kang the Conqueror.
The new season picks up on the aftermath of Sylvie’s (Sophia Di Martino) decision from the previous season’s finale to kill He Who Remains (Jonathan Majors), AKA the Kang variant who founded and ruled the Time Variance Authority.

The trailer also shows the return of other characters from the first season, including TVA members who navigate through strange timelines. And finally, Kang returns as Victor Timely, the weird scientist variant of Kang, introduced in the post-credits scene of Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania.

The Release Date and All Other Details
The second season of Loki is all set to premiere on Disney Plus on October 6, 2023. There will be a total of six episodes in the upcoming season, which is part of the MCU’s Phase Five.
Eric Martin wrote all the episodes, while Justin Benson and Aaron Moorhead directed most of them. Notably, this is a complete shift from the team who worked in the first season. Returning crew members include composer Natalie Holt and the editing team from Season 1.

Jonathan Majors’ return to Loki Season 2 came as a surprise following his arrest for domestic violence charges. Furthermore, Marvel will look to turn things around in its favor with the new season, following a not-so-impressive Disney+ streaming run with Secret Invasion.
